We got here after a little over a 8 hour drive, it was good to be back here.

We didn’t hunt our first am and got out in a box blind our first afternoon.

@5:20 we had doe & yearlyn come out from the east .

At 6:00 or so I spotted a buck to our RH and quickly glasses him and he was a young deer with a nice solid 8pt rack and he made his way towards me I spotted movement where he came from and all I could see was the left side of another buck and I knew he was a mature buck. His base was thin I and looked like he had another tine coming off his base, when he stepped out a quickly realized he could west my KS tag proud if he comes in. As he made is way past the water trough and towards me I grabbed my new HOYT and mentally prepared for an oppurtunity.

As all my attention went to him I noticed some movement far in front of us and sure enough the deer were moving.

More does we’re heading in. When he finally was in my shooting window I drew and held my 20 yd pin a little high for he was at 27 yds and drew, aimed and told my self “here I go”! And squeezed the release and my Axis 400 hit exactly where my hold was striking a hair high and blood poured out of the antrance hole as we watched him spin and run away.

We could see the blood trail clear as day, my entrance all thought higher than I wanted it severed the main artery along the spin going into the chest cavity on a quartering away shot!

At first I was worried and not sure but as we saw the blood we knew it wouldn’t be long for me to put my hands on this beautiful J&M KS buck.

We texted Steven & Tom and they said they are on their way. Before they got to us we had more deer and some more bucks come thru.

There was a nice 9pt, and good mature big 8 and a few younger bucks as more does also came in.

As the guys pulled up all the deer were gone and I climbed out of the blind and the blood trail was wide and strong as we walked quickly following it there lay my buck 50yds from the shot!

I was pumped and so was everyone else! He ended being just under 150’ and I was tickled pink👍
